Restaurant Utility Worker

Zaxbys is looking to add a Restaurant Utility Worker to the team in Crossville, TN. This role helps keep the restaurant, its equipment, and the surrounding areas clean, safe, and in working order through routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and preventive maintenance.

What the job involves

• Complete all training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
• Clean restaurant equipment regularly and perform preventive maintenance.
• Check, operate, and test equipment to identify problems.
• Handle minor lighting repairs.
• Perform heavy cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical outlets and fixtures, kitchen equipment, and the building for issues before they become problems.
• Make simple repairs when needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
• Follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies, procedures, and operating standards.
• Work safely at all times and follow required safety rules.
• Stay flexible and ready to take on additional duties when needed.
• Report HR and risk-related concerns to the General Manager and District Manager right away.
• Raise any other concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Carry out other tasks needed to keep restaurant operations running smoothly.

Schedule and availability

This is a full-time onsite position. Full-time availability is expected at 32 to 40 hours per week. The role requires a flexible schedule that can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Leadership qualities and strong organizational ability are important.
• The ability to work cooperatively with others is necessary.

Physical and work conditions

• The job involves sitting, standing, and walking for long periods.
• Employees may need to stoop, bend, crouch, climb, and use ladders.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds is required, including overhead lifting.
• Hands and wrists must be used continuously for gripping and precise tasks.
• The role requires clear speaking, reading, and writing communication.
• Employees must be able to notice and respond appropriately to their surroundings using visual and audio awareness.
• Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures as well as food and outdoor allergens.
• Safe use of restaurant tools and equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous equipment, is part of the job.
