About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our home based in Weymouth, Dorset, caring for children aged 5 to 17. This position is within a solo placement home, providing a unique chance to deliver focused and personalized care. Our approach centers on respect, listening to the children, and involving them in decisions affecting their lives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Residential Team Leader, your duties will include supporting young people to adopt healthy routines, accompanying them to appointments, assisting with educational needs, performing household tasks, and maintaining up-to-date electronic records. Additionally, you will support leadership by mentoring newer staff members, conducting supervisions, and aiding career development initiatives.

Working Hours and Compensation
This full-time role averages 39 hours per week, with the expectation of 2 to 3 overnight sleep-ins weekly. Compensation includes pay for an average of 8 sleep-ins monthly, with an extra £50 for each sleep-in. The salary is calculated based on 2 sleep-ins per week.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must hold QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People to be eligible.
- Full UK driving license required.
- Strong written communication and IT skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and external parties.
- Good listening skills and capability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to remain calm during crises and follow leadership guidance.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, aiming to attain Level 4 diploma in Children and Young People.
