Research Associate I - In Vitro Biology

About the Role

Jubilant Biosys Limited is seeking a Research Associate specializing in in vitro biology to join their team in Bengaluru. Candidates with a Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or relevant life sciences disciplines are preferred. The ideal applicant should have prior experience working in the drug discovery sector or contract research organizations (CROs), particularly involving in vitro research.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, validate, and conduct compound screening in cell-based assays under guidance from group leaders.
• Design and implement enzyme-based assays, including their optimization, validation, and screening.
• Lead the development and validation of in vitro assays covering cell-based and enzyme-based techniques targeting therapeutic areas such as CNS, metabolic disorders, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, pain, and oncology within drug discovery.
• Perform functional cell-based assays and validate them to assess the activity of novel chemical entities (NCEs).
• Prepare detailed protocols, document experimental data accurately in lab notebooks, and write standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct statistical data analysis using GraphPad Prism for calculating IC50 values and generating graphs.
• Design experiments, oversee their execution, perform necessary calculations, analyze data, create graphical representations, and report findings to project teams.
• Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and assist lab leadership in formulating new safety protocols.
• Comply with ethical standards related to assay validation, data handling, and record maintenance.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure timely project delivery while demonstrating enthusiasm for acquiring new skills in relevant research areas.

Skills and Expertise Required

• Practical knowledge of tissue culture and mammalian cell line handling techniques.
• Proficiency in in vitro assay design and execution related to drug discovery.
• Hands-on experience with western blotting and ELISA methodologies.
