Overview

The Regional Vice President, Operations (RVP) at Green Thumb Industries is a high-ranking leadership position responsible for shaping and driving the operational success of a multi-facility manufacturing region. The RVP leads the vision for operational excellence by prioritizing safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and workplace culture while managing the full regional profit and loss (P&L) to meet financial targets. Serving as a crucial connector between company-wide strategy and individual site execution, this role provides strategic leadership to Site Operations Directors and fosters alignment across multiple departments including Cultivation, Production, Quality, Compliance, People, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure best-in-class manufacturing operations.

This is a remote position requiring up to 75% travel. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to one of the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate company production goals into specific regional operational priorities with accountability at each facility.
  • Provide ongoing strategic guidance to Directors of Site Operations, serving as the escalation point and ensuring consistent implementation of GTI's preferred operational methods across all sites.
  • Manage the regional P&L in partnership with Regional Controllers and Site Operations Directors to review performance metrics such as efficiency, labor cost variance, defect rates, cost drivers, and capacity planning; make data-driven decisions regarding capital expenditures, resource allocation, and profitability enhancement.
  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration among CPG Production, Cultivation, Quality, Compliance, People, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support overarching commercial targets and growth strategies.
  • Lead a culture anchored in GTI’s values of accountability and transparency, motivating site leaders to cultivate diverse and engaged teams that represent the communities they serve.
  • Develop and implement scalable standard operating procedures and best practices across the region; identify innovative processes at individual sites and disseminate them region-wide to elevate performance.
  • Focus on talent development and succession planning by coaching Directors, providing constructive feedback, and fostering career advancement to build a robust operations leadership pipeline.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal cannabis manufacturing regulations by partnering with Compliance and Legal teams to proactively manage regulatory changes and swiftly address any compliance issues.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement through Lean manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies to minimize waste, reduce variability, resolve bottlenecks, and boost throughput efficiency region-wide.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success and growth of the operations function.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ management experience within manufacturing environments including leadership over multiple sites.
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is mandatory.
  • Strong familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; certifications are advantageous.
  • Background or exposure to horticulture, plant science, or laboratory processing is a plus.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen including P&L management experience.
  • Adaptability and proactive mindset to thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • High critical thinking capabilities and professionalism, especially when handling confidential information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medical Marijuana laws and regulations with a commitment to continuous industry knowledge enhancement.

Compensation & Benefits
