Role Overview

The Regional Payroll Manager, Asia will report to the Senior Director in Finance, Asia and partner closely with Human Resources. This role serves as a payroll subject-matter specialist responsible for supporting payroll operations across the region and overseeing all payroll-related activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly payroll processing for employees across Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and BVI.
  • Make sure payroll runs, payments, tax deductions, final settlements, pension contributions and related items are completed accurately and on time.
  • Handle administrative support for payroll operations and related records.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors to ensure service quality, timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage regional income tax reporting within required timelines.
  • Review, improve and standardise the monthly payroll process where possible.
  • Advise business teams and employees on payroll matters and respond to payroll queries.
  • Gather payroll inputs from HR and share required information with payroll vendors and office representatives.
  • Work with payroll vendors to process tax returns on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with HR and other teams to ensure employee data, compensation details and benefit deductions are correct.
  • Prepare payroll analytics, quarterly bonus reports and support audit-related payroll activities.
  • Compile leave, long service pay provisions/accruals, bonus accruals and other payroll reports for HR, Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Carry out additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Workday experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience acting as the main contact for payroll vendors and payroll matters is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills are necessary.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines is important.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an advantage.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
