DCU Sport manages the acclaimed sports facilities at Dublin City University, including multiple campuses and the Morton Stadium. Serving a diverse community of 5,000 members and welcoming 65,000 visitors each month, DCU Sport supports student clubs, elite athletes, and hosts national and international events. Role Overview
The Receptionist will serve as the initial point of contact for all visitors and members at DCU Sport, ensuring professional and courteous service. This role demands the ability to handle tasks independently in a fast-paced setting, prioritize effectively, and maintain meticulous attention to detail. Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to all existing policies and procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism at all times.
- Manage member access control systems efficiently.
- Operate online platforms, point of sale (POS) systems, and multiple databases accurately, reconciling till balances at shift end.
- Assist members with online and app-based bookings.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations.
- Handle official email communications effectively.
- Support administrative functions related to programs, sales, and marketing.
- Monitor and process pay-per-play bookings via dedicated software.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and service.
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a busy team environment, demonstrating initiative.
- Effectively communicate services and facilities to members and guests.
- Assist with any additional duties assigned by the Senior Management Team.
Person Specification
- Minimum educational qualification: Leaving Certificate.
- At least one year of experience in a similar customer-facing role or working with databases and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Familiarity with Gladstone Membership Management System or similar membership management software is advantageous.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and excellent front-of-house skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires the candidate to be adaptable to varied working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and weekends as part of a rotating roster.
