About the Company
Sidhakala Group of Industries, established in 1997, specializes in manufacturing press components, press tooling, and welded assemblies. The group consists of two primary units: Sidhakala Engineers (Bhosari plant) and Sidhakala Auto Stamping Pvt Ltd (Chakan plant).
Position Overview
We are searching for a seasoned Quality Head to steer the quality department focusing on sheet metal press parts at our Chakan-Pune facility. This leadership role reports directly to the Plant Head.
Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, and advance the Quality Management System (QMS) complying with IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Head the Quality department ensuring superior product quality across incoming materials, in-process activities, and final product inspections.
- Achieve customer satisfaction by promoting zero-defect production and ongoing quality improvements.
- Direct the deployment of AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Oversee all APQP processes, encompassing planning, product and process design, validation, and feedback for new product development.
- Review, authorize, and submit PPAP documents promptly to meet customer deadlines.
- Manage customer and supplier audits, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement with CQI-11 standards.
- Execute PFMEA and DFMEA to pinpoint process risks and implement preventative measures.
- Perform Measurement System Analysis such as Gauge R&R, Bias, Linearity, and Stability tests.
- Enhance process capabilities utilizing SPC, CP, CPK, PP, and PPK analytics.
- Utilize and promote the 7 QC Tools effectively: Check Sheet, Histogram, Pareto Chart, Cause & Effect Diagram, Scatter Diagram, Control Charts.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using methods like 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Integrate Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing concepts to eradicate defects and boost process efficiency.
- Track and decrease Customer PPM, Internal PPM, Supplier PPM, rejection rates, rework, and scrap through systematic enhancements.
- Conduct internal, process, product, supplier, and customer audits to verify QMS conformity.
- Manage calibration, measuring instruments, Gauge R&R, and ensure traceability rigorously.
- Assess quality impact of engineering and process changes, updating FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP documents accordingly.
- Ensure adherence to environmental standards per ISO 14001 and all legal and customer mandates.
- Monitor Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), warranty claims, and quality-related losses, initiating cost-reduction strategies.
- Analyze and calculate various quality metrics including PPM, sample sizes, CP, CPK, PP, PPK, GR&R, control limits, and quality costs.
- Formulate quality objectives, KPIs, MIS reports, and present these findings to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with departments such as Production, Design, Purchase, Tool Room, and Customers to achieve quality targets.
- Lead and develop the Quality team fostering ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture oriented towards best quality practices, preventive systems, and customer-centric manufacturing protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in the industry with at least 5 years as a Quality Head in a sheet metal press part manufacturing environment or an equivalent role.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong experience with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 auditing standards, specifically in sheet metal part manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written; capable of independent work, managing tasks within deadlines, and effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor and delivering superior customer service.
