Role Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple civil infrastructure and land development projects from initial planning stages through to completion. The role includes close client interaction, collaboration with consultants and site personnel, and management of subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and quality project execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil infrastructure and land development projects from start to finish
  • Develop, monitor, and control project schedules, financial performance, and reporting metrics
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to support repeat business
  • Coordinate and oversee site teams, subcontractors, and consultants effectively
  • Ensure project risks, quality, and health and safety standards are rigorously managed
  • Drive project delivery while upholding stringent workmanship standards
  • Engage with customers actively to support future business opportunities

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing projects in New Zealand’s civil construction sector
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure and land development projects
  • Track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills with strong relationship management capabilities
  • Commercial insight with competence in contract and financial management
  • Natural leadership qualities capable of mobilizing teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with GPS machine control technology is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Civil engineering or construction qualifications preferred, though practical project experience is more critical
