Product Designer

About the Role

Togetherwork's Product team is seeking an associate Product Designer based in Austin, TX, working in a hybrid on-site capacity. This position reports directly to the VP of Design & Usability. The role focuses on modernizing existing products that have evolved through multiple teams and shifting standards, aiming to enhance user clarity, accessibility, and scalability. Designers are expected to integrate AI into every stage of their workflow, including research, prototyping, building, and delivery, innovating beyond traditional design processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of user experience for designated features or product sections within the Togetherwork portfolio from initial discovery through to final delivery.
• Enhance clarity, usability, and accessibility within current workflows by leveraging AI-driven analysis to detect issues and validate solutions efficiently.
• Contribute to and improve shared design system components using existing patterns while proposing refinements.
• Work closely with product managers and engineering teams to convert ambiguous requirements into concrete, testable design directions.
• Utilize AI tools daily for activities including research synthesis, competitive analysis, rapid prototyping, content generation, accessibility evaluation, and process automation.
• Explore new AI capabilities continuously and share insights to influence team practices.
• Refine designs based on feedback from senior designers, cross-functional collaborators, and real-world usage data.
• Participate in the modernization of legacy workflows by applying contemporary tools and fresh perspectives.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in product design, encompassing internships or equivalent relevant experience.
• Background in working with SaaS products or handling intricate workflows academically or professionally.
• Solid foundational knowledge of user experience principles and interaction design.
• Excellent communication skills with receptiveness to constructive feedback.
• Proven, regular use of AI technologies within the design process — beyond awareness, demonstrated application in research, prototyping, or product building is required.
• A portfolio demonstrating defined problem framing, thoughtful design decisions, iterations based on feedback, and clear examples of AI-assisted design work.
