Our signature offering, the Rugged Glamp, is a compact, mobile glamping tent that can be setup easily in remote locations such as mountainsides, coastal cliffs, and bushlands without the need for groundwork or specialized labor. It withstands challenging weather conditions, compacts to fit within a standard shipping container, and can be assembled by just two individuals within several hours.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Product Design Assistant to collaborate closely with our Head of Product. The role involves supporting various aspects of product design and development with duties evolving weekly such as:

• Creating 3D models and CAD designs using Autodesk Fusion, starting from initial sketches to finalized production assemblies
• Generating still and animated renders for internal evaluation, marketing, and coordination with manufacturing partners
• Assisting with prototyping and refining new product concepts and variations
• Preparing detailed documentation including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials for manufacturing and suppliers
• Helping with sourcing activities and communication with manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders
• Participating in design reviews and troubleshooting across various product components like hardgoods, softgoods, and electronic elements
• Providing broad support across the product department in a dynamic and hands-on capacity

Candidate Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a similar discipline
• Proficient in 3D modeling, preferably using Autodesk Fusion
• Experience with product or architectural rendering, including still images or animations
• Familiarity with hardgoods, softgoods, or electronics is highly advantageous
• Some exposure or understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chains is beneficial though not mandatory
• Possess a versatile and proactive approach, eager to learn new skills and manage responsibilities independently
• Comfortable working in small, agile teams where priorities may rapidly change
• Familiarity with Mac/Apple environments is useful but not required
