Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable Process Engineer to join our established team based in Cork, Ireland. The role involves independently and collaboratively managing anaerobic digestion projects, primarily within Ireland with additional opportunities to lead initiatives across the UK, Europe, Africa, and other global locations. Reporting to the Project Director, you will also engage in project management, client liaison, and proposal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery and support for anaerobic digestion projects throughout their lifecycles, including feasibility, design, commissioning, and optimization phases.
  • Critically review third-party designs, technical propositions, and operational models; produce technical due diligence reports for financial stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documents, procurement materials, schematics, and drawings.
  • Develop and analyze models for plant mass and energy balances, emission assessments, thermodynamic calculations, and financial/operational metrics.
  • Supervise and manage personnel conducting on-site inspections, construction supervision, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting across waste treatment and renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within SLR to provide expertise on varied process engineering challenges.
  • Travel to client sites as necessary to support project execution.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has:

  • A degree in engineering or analogous discipline.
  • Experience in process engineering, preferably in consultancy settings focused on decarbonisation and renewable technologies.
  • Project management capabilities and confidence handling numerical data, modeling, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with IT tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a logical, organized mindset.
  • Strong communication skills paired with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • A valid full driving license for Ireland.

Desirable qualifications include a master’s degree and/or Chartered Engineer status or ongoing professional accreditation.
