Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist

About the Role

Join WSP’s Primary Industries team as a Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist, where you will lead geomorphic and flood risk assessments and provide expert design guidance. This position offers the opportunity to lead projects, provide technical mentorship, and review geomorphic assessments across various business divisions, with a focus on fluvial morphodynamics in rural and sustainable landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver natural resource solutions through both field and desktop technical expertise. Support hydraulic and geomorphic design efforts and engage significantly with rural catchment management. Provide leadership and expert advice within the Primary Industries group and contribute knowledge across the wider WSP organisation. Mentor colleagues at various levels and ensure technical rigour in project delivery.

Candidate Profile

• Advanced degree specializing in Physical Geography, Geomorphology, Hydraulic Engineering, Engineering Geology, Hydrology, or related fields.
• Between 10 and 15 years of applied experience in geomorphic assessment and/or design practices.
• Expertise with hydraulic and landscape evolution modeling tools.
• Strong practical skills in geomorphic fieldwork.
• Possession of a current, clean driver’s license.
