Planning Manager - Data Center Projects

Role overview

URC Construction (P) Ltd is looking for a seasoned Planning Manager to take charge of planning, scheduling, tracking, and control for major construction projects in Vizag. Candidates who have handled Data Center projects will have an added advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update, and manage detailed project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Build project baselines, resource loading plans, and recovery schedules when delays occur.
• Keep a close watch on progress, spot schedule slippages, and suggest corrective measures.
• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and client teams to help ensure delivery on time.
• Track milestones, critical path activities, and productivity indicators.
• Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and progress presentations for management review.
• Perform schedule risk reviews and support mitigation planning.
• Make sure timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations are consistently met.
• Lead planning review meetings and provide data-backed inputs to support management decisions.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in project planning and controls in the construction sector.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and project scheduling methods.
• Hands-on experience with large commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Good analytical ability, leadership qualities, communication skills, and stakeholder handling capability.

Preferred skills and profile

Experience in Data Center construction projects is strongly preferred. The role also calls for familiarity with project control tools, cost tracking, and reporting systems, along with the ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
