Murrin Murrin Operations, located in Western Australia's northern Goldfields near Perth, is Australia's largest producer of cobalt and a significant global nickel producer. Role Overview
The Permit to Work Officer will join a dedicated team responsible for managing the authorization and issuance of Work Permits for the processing plant at Murrin Murrin. This role plays a critical part in ensuring workplace safety and compliance during operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain work permits in full compliance with established procedures throughout the permit lifecycle.
- Ensure all hazards and controls are clearly identified and validated by authorized personnel.
- Create work permits and specific Isolation Lists that align precisely with the scope of work.
- Coordinate with internal teams to secure safe isolation of equipment involved in work processes.
- Confirm that Job Safety Environmental Analyses (JSEA), Work Instructions, and Team Based Risk Assessments have been submitted by Permit Acceptors.
- Authorize the issuance of permits and relevant certificates.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in a similar position or environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with hazard identification and risk management is advantageous.
- Understanding of isolations, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), work permit procedures, workplace health and safety legislation, and risk assessments is beneficial.
- Strong ability to coordinate activities and communicate with colleagues across multiple departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent with integrated management systems, as well as using word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
