Role Summary

Benevity is hiring a Payroll Administrator to support the Finance team. This position is responsible for accurate payroll operations, including wage calculations, taxes, deductions, employee data maintenance, and compliance. The role works closely with the Senior Payroll Specialist and the People Team to ensure payroll is processed correctly and on time for a global workforce across Canada, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the full payroll cycle for employees, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and leave balances, from data entry through fund release to payroll processors.
  • Coordinate with the People Team so that payroll changes are received correctly and reflected in employee pay on time.
  • Keep up with payroll legislation and regulatory updates, and ensure operations meet federal, state/provincial, and local requirements.
  • Maintain complete and current payroll records for all employees.
  • Prepare payroll activity reports for leadership review.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and resolve pay errors or discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts against supporting records.
  • Enter and review expense reports.
  • Perform pay-period-to-pay-period analysis.
  • Update internal documentation for global payroll processes, deadlines, timelines, and changes.
  • Administer benefits-related payroll deductions and enrollment updates.
  • Use payroll systems to process payroll and suggest improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll administration or a closely related role, with strong exposure to full-cycle payroll.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud payroll platforms such as ADP (Canada), JustWorks (U.S.), and DEEL (International).
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll tax and wage rules.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to juggle several deadlines at once.
  • Good numerical reasoning and analytical ability.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP would be an advantage.
