About the Role
Avant Respiratory delivers clinical consultation, diagnostic services, and treatment for various sleep disorders across Canada, aiming to improve patients' sleep and quality of life. We are expanding our Fredericton team and seek a Patient Care Coordinator who acts as a welcoming, organized, and dependable contact for patients and colleagues alike. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys multitasking diverse responsibilities and has a genuine interest in supporting others.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and staff, providing answers and directing them to appropriate support.
- Gather and update patient medical histories and insurance details, ensuring accurate medical records management.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, rescheduling, and follow-up communications.
- Handle and screen incoming calls to assess urgency and route or schedule accordingly.
- Assist patients with insurance pre-authorization processes and claims support.
- Monitor clinical activities and compile reports as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, coordinating repairs or maintenance when necessary.
- Undertake additional related tasks as they arise in the role.
Qualifications & Skills
- A positive and helpful attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of one year experience in healthcare or client/customer service environments.
- Strong communication abilities combined with a professional and mature approach.
- Exceptional organizational skills with an aptitude for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable with learning new technologies and workflows.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is advantageous.
- Background in healthcare or sleep therapy is beneficial but not required; training is provided.
- Ability to speak both French and English is considered an asset.
Job Details
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
- This is a full-time, onsite position based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
- Compensation ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, depending on experience.
