Job description

Role Overview

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) represents the Mayor of London's role as Police and Crime Commissioner and operates under the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC collaborates closely with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to deliver on priorities that aim to build safer communities in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out administrative duties including minute-taking, managing inboxes, and organizing Board meetings.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues across MOPAC, the Greater London Authority (GLA), and the Metropolitan Police Service.
  • Create high-quality communications such as weekly emails and summary documents for stakeholders.
  • Assume (co-)responsibility for managing designated workstreams like oversight documentation.

Role Focus

As an Oversight Support Officer, your primary responsibility is to support the London Policing Board. This involves handling administrative tasks, maintaining professional communication with senior staff, Board members, and the MPS, and contributing to informed decision-making by producing accurate, insightful reports. The daily work varies from summarizing MPS accomplishments on topics like neighbourhood policing, updating project group progress, to diplomatically addressing queries from Board members. The fast-paced environment requires resilience, teamwork, and adaptability.

Additional Information

This position is a maternity cover role, with a fixed term ending December 2027.
