Overview

K12 Techno Services Pvt Ltd, operating Orchids The International School network, is expanding its structured arts education program, reaching over 80,000 students across 120 branches in India. The Central Arts Department supports disciplines including Music, Dance, Theatre, Drawing, Pottery, Textiles, and other visual arts using specialized labs and trained educators.

The organization is focused on delivering quality music education as a serious academic pursuit, not just extracurricular activities. With many branches opening in Karnataka, Hyderabad, and Tamil Nadu, maintaining high teaching standards is a top priority.

Role Summary

The Training Lead - Music reports to the Head of Performing Arts and works from Mumbai or Bangalore. This full-time position demands six-day work weeks, with the 2nd and 4th Saturdays off. The primary goal is to elevate teacher performance and student learning outcomes through direct training, classroom engagement, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver practical, demonstration-based training sessions for music educators, both online and in-person;
  • Develop training materials and aids that showcase best teaching practices;
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of teachers in newly opened branches;
  • Conduct frequent classroom visits and observe teaching methods to ensure instructional excellence;
  • Model exemplary lessons and co-teach with staff as needed;
  • Provide structured feedback and mentoring to enhance teaching quality and student engagement;
  • Lead large-scale student music projects, performances, and showcases, ensuring readiness and high standards;
  • Promote student participation in festivals, competitions, and other school events;
  • Innovate and refine subject-specific educational tools, lab procedures, and teaching techniques;
  • Identify and resolve implementation challenges to strengthen overall departmental performance;
  • Collaborate closely with academic, operations, zonal, and school teams on coordination and documentation tasks;
  • Maintain detailed records and reports, track action items, and follow up consistently across branches;
  • Be prepared to teach students directly when necessary;
  • Travel extensively within Karnataka, Hyderabad, and Tamil Nadu branches, with train travel and food expenses reimbursed according to policy.

Subject Matter Expertise

Expertise required in one of the following instruments: keyboard, percussion, or guitar. Candidates should possess a refined sense of pitch, rhythm, and ensemble coordination to prepare students for professional stage performances.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or formal training in a relevant music discipline (Master’s preferred);
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in teaching or training, preferably with experience mentoring adult educators;
  • Experience in structured school environments is advantageous.

Working Conditions & Compensation

  • Full-time position with six working days per week (2nd and 4th Saturdays off);
  • Frequent travel required to expanding branches in southern India;
  • Salary adjustment offers approximately a 15% increase on current CTC, depending on experience and selection process outcomes;
  • Selection includes CV screening, interviews, practical demos, and assignments.
