Egis Lagan Services operates from the R95W409 facility and is responsible for motorway maintenance and renewals across approximately 330km of motorway and high-speed dual carriageway networks in Ireland on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

Role Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Operative for the Little Island, Cork Depot to actively engage in daily motorway maintenance tasks and support emergency response efforts outside regular hours on a roster, which may include night shifts.

Key Duties

• Perform landscaping duties such as grass cutting
• Clean road furniture and fixtures
• Implement traffic management plans
• Conduct routine patrols and inspections of road networks
• Respond promptly to incidents
• Participate in winter maintenance operations
• Collect litter along roadways
• Carry out general maintenance responsibilities
• Repair fencing and perform minor civil works, including concrete repairs and ducting
• Maintain precise records of completed tasks
• Complete required training under supervision
• Execute all assigned maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of secondary education
• Possession of a valid Class C driving license
• Safe Pass certification
• Relevant maintenance experience, ideally with practical skills related to motorway upkeep activities
• Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Updated certifications in traffic management
• Health and safety training such as first aid, fire warden duties, manual handling, or safety representation
• Additional related work training or qualifications
• Experience in comparable maintenance roles
• Familiarity with standard methods, equipment, and materials used in road maintenance

Licensing and Work Authorization

Must hold a valid C Class driving licence and be authorized to work in Ireland.
