Role overview

A well-established automotive accident repair business in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced MET Technician to join a busy workshop. The role suits someone with a background as a MET Technician, Vehicle Technician, or Bodyshop Technician who is comfortable handling mechanical, electrical, and trim work within accident repair and vehicle restoration.

You will be responsible for stripping, fitting, diagnosing, and rebuilding vehicles so they are returned safely and efficiently to their pre-accident condition. The position offers steady workflow and uncapped bonus potential, creating a strong earning opportunity in a fast-paced repair environment.

Key duties

• Perform complete MET stripping and refitting on vehicles.
• Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues linked to accident damage.
• Remove and reinstall parts to support panel work and body restoration.
• Carry out diagnostics, fault tracing, and system inspections.
• Reassemble vehicles while ensuring correct fitment and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with panel and paint teams to keep work moving efficiently.
• Make sure every task aligns with manufacturer and bodyshop standards.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of all repair activity.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will have strong experience in accident repair, vehicle diagnostics, and mechanical repair. You should be confident with strip, fit, and rebuild work, and have a solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnosis. The role requires someone who can work effectively in a high-pressure workshop while maintaining excellent attention to detail and quality standards.

NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or MET is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
