Role Overview

We are looking for a Market Risk Production Support Lead at the Director level, to be based in Pune, India, working a 2 PM to 11 PM IST schedule. The role requires a talented individual with over 20 years of relevant industry experience to oversee the stability, performance, and governance of critical Market Risk technology platforms used for Value at Risk (VaR), FRTB, Stress Testing, Sensitivities, Market Data Management, Limits Monitoring, and Regulatory Reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage production support operations for Market Risk platforms, ensuring smooth overnight and end-of-day processing with minimal disruptions.
  • Collaborate closely with Risk, Finance, Front Office, and Technology teams to maintain platform stability and support ongoing business continuity and strategic projects.
  • Drive platform modernization, migrations, and readiness for production releases.
  • Oversee global L2/L3 support teams working in a follow-the-sun framework and act as the senior escalation point for major incidents.
  • Implement ITIL best practices including Incident, Problem, and Change Management through tools like ServiceNow, and lead Major Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles aimed at automating manual tasks, enhancing observability, monitoring, and improving overall operational excellence.
  • Manage complex batch processing workloads using enterprise schedulers such as Tidal, Airflow, Control-M, and Autosys.
  • Support technology platforms leveraging SQL, Python, SQL Server, SSIS, Databricks, ETL/ELT processes, Power BI, and Azure cloud services.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, database, and integration issues, supporting Unix/Linux and Windows environments and ensuring capacity management and reliability.
  • Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and release teams for deployments, performance tuning, and operational readiness tasks.
  • Deliver high-quality service, maintain strong stakeholder communication at executive levels, and manage production events including BCM/DR exercises and patching.
  • Build and mentor high-performing global teams, advocating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for Market Risk production support focusing on automation, observability, resilience, and modernization.
  • Establish and track operational KPIs, SLAs, and risk metrics ensuring adherence to governance and quality standards.
  • Drive cost efficiency through process simplification and platform rationalization.
  • Lead audit, compliance, and risk-control initiatives related to Market Risk production platforms.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive Market Risk domain knowledge including VaR, FRTB, Stress Testing, Sensitivities, Market Data, Limits Monitoring, and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Proven leadership in ITIL-based production support within Financial Services, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Hands-on expertise with technologies such as SQL, Python, SQL Server, SSIS, Databricks, ETL/ELT, Data Pipelines, Power BI, Azure, and enterprise schedulers (Tidal, Airflow, Control-M, Autosys).
  • Experience embedding SRE practices, driving automation, enhanced monitoring, and operational excellence.
  • Track record of managing global operations and senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, decision-making, communication, and team leadership.
