Manager Business & Infrastructure Development

Overview

This role entails leading the strategic planning, development, and execution of business and infrastructure initiatives that enhance operational excellence, support organizational growth, and align with long-term business goals. The position is accountable for creating business cases, conducting feasibility studies, managing capital investments, enforcing project governance, and driving business improvement projects tailored to operational needs and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and implement new business opportunities, services, and strategic projects aimed at business expansion, diversification, and improved customer value while ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and capabilities.
• Formulate and apply strategic and tactical plans for infrastructure development to boost operational capability and meet evolving business demands.
• Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to craft development plans that mitigate risks and minimize disruption during operations.
• Manage risks highlighted by Cargo Leadership, establishing mitigation strategies to maintain business continuity.
• Perform market research, operational analysis, and feasibility evaluations of potential business and service enhancements.
• Create robust business cases, financial analyses, project plans, and necessary documentation supporting new initiatives.
• Coordinate requirements related to operations, infrastructure, technology, regulations, and resources with multiple stakeholders.
• Lead workstreams involved in deploying authorized business development projects.
• Assist in designing operating models and governance frameworks needed to launch new services and capabilities.
• Monitor project implementation, benefits realization, and service performance, recommending enhancements when necessary.
• Plan and execute delivery and closure of projects ensuring excellence in air cargo handling aligned with organizational strategy, budgets, and governance.
• Supervise design consultants and contractors during project execution to fulfill current and future business needs.
• Ensure quality control throughout project lifecycles and collaborate with stakeholders to guarantee timely delivery.
• Maintain organized project documentation and progress updates to track milestones and avoid deviations from plans.
• Oversee resource management including internal teams, vendors, and consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) teams for trials and training related to infrastructure projects to ensure smooth transitions.
• Integrate LEAN and Six Sigma principles into project designs to optimize processes and material flow across the Cargo Campus.
• Facilitate project handovers to operational units, ensuring readiness and smooth activation.
• Adhere to established project management and safety practices to maintain a secure working environment within the cargo area.
• Fulfill additional duties assigned by the Head of Department related to the position.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a High School diploma with at least 9 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 years' related experience.
• Proven expertise in project management, especially overseeing large-scale projects.
• Fluency in English with exceptional listening and comprehension abilities to facilitate project requirements.
• Competence to perform effectively under pressure while managing tight deadlines and budgets.
• Strong leadership and managerial capabilities including delegation, direction, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, and promoting teamwork.
• Innovative and results-driven with the ability to implement change rapidly.
• Leadership style characterized by decisiveness, strength, and collaboration.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced training from recognized institutions in aviation, cargo and freight operations, warehousing, and material handling systems.
• Experience managing large infrastructure developments.
• Adaptability to meet diverse business unit demands.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with various departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
