Heritage Lifecare invites applications for a permanent part-time Maintenance Coordinator role at their Harewood Road facility in Papanui, Christchurch. Role Overview

This position is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the care home, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that supports the wellbeing of residents. The role includes performing preventative maintenance, building repairs, and maintaining the building's external areas. Close collaboration with the Care Home Manager is essential to maintain the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance activities including building repairs and exterior/grounds upkeep.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance tasks to preserve facility integrity.
• Organize and prioritize workload effectively while working both independently and as part of a team.
• Engage positively with staff and residents to foster a supportive atmosphere.

Required Skills and Experience

• Practical skills in maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, and minor carpentry are preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and effective communication.
• Time management capabilities and a commitment to quality work.
• Friendly manner and genuine passion for supporting and helping people.
• Hold a full clean driver’s license.
