About O'Donovan Lifts LTD
O'Donovan Lifts is a family-owned lift company based in Ireland, established in 1973 and now operated by the second generation aiming to grow further. The company specializes in installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of lifts throughout Ireland, including projects in residential, commercial, industrial, and public sectors. Their expertise spans routine upkeep, large-scale modernizations, and new installations.
Role Overview
We are expanding our team in Cork, County Cork, Ireland, and are looking for skilled Lift Engineers to join our service and repair squad. This role encompasses servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of passenger lifts, goods lifts, platform lifts, and escalators primarily across the Munster region.
Work Hours and On-Call Duties
The working schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an on-call rotation of one week every three weeks. On-call involvement includes standby allowances and additional call-out payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement scheduled preventative maintenance on various lifts and lifting machinery.
- Respond promptly to lift breakdowns, performing repairs efficiently and safely.
- Conduct servicing, fault diagnostics, and minor repairs across a variety of lift systems.
- Maintain stringent safety and quality standards in all tasks.
- Carry out risk assessments and keep comprehensive service records up to date.
- Participate in on-call rotations providing responsive support when required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of six months’ previous experience as a Lift Engineer.
- Possession of a full, clean driving license.
- Strong communication abilities and excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications including Safe Pass and Manual Handling.
- Experience with lift installation processes.
