Role Overview
In the position of Librarian within Library Client Services and Student Support, you will play a pivotal role in providing research assistance, referencing help, and curating dynamic library programs. This role involves leadership responsibilities, statewide project management, and the enhancement of student support services through both in-person and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion transformation and cultural change by embodying safety-first values, teamwork, customer focus, initiative, and accountability.
- Design and deliver innovative student support and information literacy educational programs that integrate new trends and technologies to bolster academic success, digital skills, engagement, and retention.
- Collaborate with Library Network teams to develop digital literacy content grounded in adult learning theories and emerging tech.
- Support customer service and mentor client-facing staff to promote and provide high-quality student support services.
- Prioritize workplace safety following WH&S protocols to maintain a secure and healthy library environment.
- Lead the assessment of library trends and best practices, collecting feedback and usage data to refine services aligned with student needs.
- Create and implement marketing strategies to enhance visibility and engagement of Library Network's student support offerings among students and educators.
- Take charge of and contribute actively to library projects and groups aiming at service and resource enhancement.
- Participate in library network forums and committees, aiding the development of strategic and operational library plans.
Candidate Profile and Assessment Criteria
- Expertise in research, data analysis, knowledge management, and information literacy supporting library priorities.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering comprehensive library programs and initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency with contemporary library technologies, digital platforms, and online services.
- Capacity to identify emerging trends and innovate library support services, resulting in substantial improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills facilitating collaborative work environments and relationship building.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Library and Information Studies that qualifies for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
Preferred Experience
- At least three years of practical experience delivering library services.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time temporary position for a duration of 12 months, primarily based in South Brisbane with the potential for duties at various TAFE Queensland campuses.
