  • Maintain sample order and identification throughout processing, and report any mismatches or deviations.
  • Handle samples carefully to avoid loss, contamination, confusion, or accidents, and report incidents promptly.
  • Observe the quality of work in progress, note unusual events such as reactive samples, boil overs, or incomplete dissolution, and escalate where needed.
  • Complete all required forms, worksheets, and signed records.
  • Operate equipment only according to instructions and manuals, and follow all safety rules.
  • Check calibration status daily or before use where applicable, and report any equipment issues or unusual results.
  • Do not use faulty or suspicious equipment; carry out basic maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, or replacing parts as instructed.
  • Keep equipment and the work area clean and organised, and prepare the area for the next use at the end of the shift.
  • Raise ideas for improving methods or operations with the Laboratory Manager or Quality Manager.
  • Maintain records in line with ISO 17025, INAB requirements, and the laboratory quality management system.
