Role Overview
SGS is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join the Shepparton team on a full-time basis. This practical role supports sample handling, laboratory testing, and day-to-day lab operations, helping ensure results are accurate, timely, and aligned with SGS quality and safety standards.
This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a team environment, and wants to grow experience in laboratory operations, quality processes, and client support within a respected global organisation.
Key Duties
- Carry out laboratory testing in accordance with SGS procedures, methods, and quality standards.
- Assist with receiving samples, preparing bottles, supporting testing tasks, and keeping the lab workflow moving efficiently.
- Complete quality checks, instrument calibration tasks, and precise documentation.
- Help with collecting and delivering samples for important clients when needed.
- Represent SGS in a professional manner while on site and during client interactions.
- Work closely with the Shepparton team so testing and data delivery meet required deadlines.
- Help maintain a safe, organised, and compliant workplace by following quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will bring a practical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a cooperative approach to teamwork. Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not mandatory.
You should be comfortable communicating clearly, recording information accurately, and following technical instructions, safety rules, and quality procedures. A valid full Victorian driver’s licence is essential.
