Job Overview
This full-time position involves delivering hands-on training in frontline and back-of-house café operations, including food preparation, cashier duties, customer service, dishwashing, and station organization. The role emphasizes applying Positive Behavioural Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies through structured vocational teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular instruction on various café operational tasks covering both front and back areas.
- Create and update training resources such as visual aids, standard operating procedures (SOPs), sequenced task lists, and checklists to support learning.
- Oversee trainees during active café service to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality control, and service standards.
- Work alongside the Production Team on vocational training related to pastries, baked items, and product creation.
- Assist trainees in meeting Standards of Work Performance (SWP) benchmarks and closely track their progress.
- Keep detailed records of trainee development and promptly address behavioral or learning challenges.
- Maintain adherence to HALAL dietary guidelines, uphold food safety regulations, and ensure cleanliness standards are followed.
- Engage in additional duties such as participating in special events, catering services, exhibitions, and arranging work trials.
- Embody and promote the organizational mission while supporting successful employment outcomes for trainees.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of Higher NITEC, Diploma, or Degree in any field.
- Comprehensive understanding of café operations including food handling, customer service, hygiene practices, and general F&B service.
- Certification in WSQ Food Hygiene.
- Experienced in training and coaching individuals with intellectual disabilities, capable of task simplification and effective breakdown.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn PBIS implementation methods.
- Competence in developing visual learning tools, stepwise task analyses, and organized training routines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with strong teamwork and customer interaction ability.
- Adaptable to support varied operational demands including event-related functions and bakery production.
- Exemplifies professionalism in food and beverage conduct along with adherence to safety standards.
