Job description
Role Overview
Join UNOPS in Tashkent as an ICT Associate, contributing to global initiatives by fostering innovation in ICT, promoting knowledge sharing, and ensuring the security of information systems. This role supports projects that enhance healthcare infrastructure and services across Uzbekistan, such as pandemic response, oncology services development, and hospital infrastructure design.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver client-focused ICT services aligning with UNOPS policies and strategies.
- Manage network infrastructure to ensure stable internet connectivity and system availability.
- Supervise ICT personnel and coordinate with headquarters and UN partners.
- Maintain inventory of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with asset policies.
- Provide technical support and advice on ICT planning and project implementation.
- Manage hardware procurement and supplier rosters.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ICT systems with effective backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Oversee video conferencing and telephony operations for the unit.
- Promote knowledge building and facilitate ICT-related training for staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary education with six years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in information sciences, computer sciences, or engineering with two years of relevant experience.
- Experience with office software (MS Office 2010 or newer), Active Directory, Windows servers, and network infrastructure.
- Preferred certifications in ICT and experience in multicultural or UN environments, particularly in development or humanitarian contexts.
Additional Information
UNOPS presence in Tashkent began in 2023 with projects focusing on strengthening healthcare systems through infrastructure upgrades, medical equipment provision, and capacity building. The ICT Associate will operate in a dynamic international setting, providing support and coordination to various stakeholders.
