About the Role
Girl Scouts San Diego is devoted to developing girls with courage, confidence, and character who positively impact the world. To achieve this mission, our focus starts with supporting our people. We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Human Resources Representative to become a member of our HR team. This role involves delivering administrative assistance across the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits management, employee record maintenance, and general HR operations. Ideal candidates enjoy fostering relationships, handling diverse priorities, and offering exceptional employee service.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries and HR-related requests.
- Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screenings, and preparing employment offers.
- Manage new hire onboarding to ensure employees have necessary resources and tools from day one.
- Keep employee records updated and process personnel changes within the HRIS and payroll systems.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, modifications, open enrollment periods, and monthly invoice reconciliation.
- Handle employee offboarding activities such as paperwork, exit interviews, and documentation.
- Monitor mandatory training, assist with workers' compensation processes, and support HR compliance functions.
- Coordinate employee programs, special events, and wellness initiatives.
- Provide additional administrative support to the HR team and contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience in Human Resources, or holding a Human Resources certificate coupled with two years of administrative work experience.
- Familiarity with HR practices, employment legislation, and HRIS/applicant tracking platforms; experience with Paylocity is advantageous.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in organization, time management, and multitasking with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to cultivate positive relationships at all organizational levels.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this full-time, non-exempt position ranges between $26.00 and $28.00 per hour. It is based in the Balboa Park area of San Diego.
