Role Overview
This Human Resources Executive position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR operations, learning and development, as well as talent management. The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams and Subject Matter Experts to orchestrate and back technical training and capability enhancement initiatives. It is a perfect fit for an engineering graduate motivated to pursue a career centered on HR and employee growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment activities such as creating job postings, arranging interviews, communicating with candidates, handling employment documents, and overseeing onboarding processes.
- Partner with various departments to identify manpower needs and assist in hiring appropriate candidates.
- Facilitate new employee orientation and induction programs to ensure smooth assimilation into the company’s culture, policies, and work environment.
- Coordinate internship and early-career programs in collaboration with educational institutions, including onboarding, engagement, performance evaluation, and allowance processing.
- Contribute to employer branding efforts, career fairs, learning excursions, and engagements with educational bodies.
- Assist in annual training needs analysis by working with department heads to collect and consolidate employee developmental requirements into the organizational training plan.
- Coordinate both internal and external training sessions encompassing sourcing courses, assessing training providers, scheduling, nominating employees, registering participants, and tracking attendance.
- Ensure employees receive training related to functional, technical, compliance, and mandatory areas by collaborating with departments.
- Maintain accurate training records and update attendance and completion statuses in relevant HR or learning management systems.
- Handle applications and claims related to training funding schemes such as Skills Development Fund (SDF) and Specialised Retrenchment Program (SRP), among others.
- Track training plan implementation, manage training budget utilization, and assess course completions along with pre- and post-training evaluations.
- Prepare reports on learning and development activities, training statistics, and key performance indicators for management review.
- Administer continuing education sponsorships, scholarships, and other employee development programs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and Subject Matter Experts to identify technical skill gaps and training needs.
- Support the creation of technical training materials including presentations, training manuals, practical exercises, and e-learning content.
- Coordinate and potentially facilitate technical training, product familiarization, employee development sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Translate complex technical topics into structured, easily understood learning resources tailored for diverse employee groups.
- Regularly update technical content in partnership with engineering teams and experts to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor learner progress including attendance, assessments, and feedback to evaluate training success and suggest improvements.
- Assist talent development and management activities like development planning, career progression, succession planning, and talent reviews.
- Organize employee engagement, social, and recreational initiatives that foster wellbeing, communication, and teamwork.
- Support organisation-wide HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
- Execute additional HR tasks as necessary to support evolving department requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies
- A degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field is required.
- Additional qualifications, experience, or interest in human resources, learning and development, training, or organizational development is advantageous.
- Fresh graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in HR, training coordination, technical training, facilitation, internships, or engineering projects will be beneficial.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for establishing a career in human resources and employee development.
- Ability to comprehend technical information and convert it into clearly structured training content.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, alongside effective presentation capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with employees, management, engineers, training providers, and academic partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
- Familiarity with HR systems, learning management platforms, or digital learning tools is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Singapore’s employment regulations and training funding options is advantageous.
- Attributes such as resourcefulness, proactivity, eagerness to learn, attention to detail, confidentiality, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.
