Human Research Technologist (Community Engagement)

Position Overview

This opening is for a Human Research Technologist focused on community engagement, based in the United States. The position supports vital community-centric research projects aimed at enhancing the health and welfare of children, youth, and families. The successful candidate will foster strong partnerships between research teams and community groups, facilitating outreach, recruitment, data collection, and collaborative activities within a multidisciplinary setting. This role includes community relations, research coordination, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain connections with family, youth, and community organizations to promote outreach and engagement.
• Serve as a representative of research initiatives at community events, aiding participant recruitment and information sharing.
• Contribute to creating and applying recruitment plans for research projects.
• Assist in participant coordination, data gathering, record keeping, and related administrative duties.
• Monitor and document outreach efforts, recruitment progress, engagement, and partnership outcomes to assess impact.
• Provide training and support to volunteers and students involved in outreach and data collection.
• Engage in team meetings, deliver updates, and collaborate with researchers and community collaborators.
• Oversee website and social media activities connected to community programs.
• Support investigators with protocol development and occasionally assist with data collection.
• Work with leadership in community relations to enhance partnerships and engagement methods.
• Balance independent responsibility with effective teamwork in a diverse research environment.
• Maintain flexibility in schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, to accommodate community events and participant availability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree paired with at least two years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and work background.
• Excellent organizational capabilities to handle various tasks while paying close attention to detail.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred experience relating to community work, outreach programming, research projects, or engagement activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams for documentation and communication.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
• Dedication to culturally aware community engagement and relationship building.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred given the diversity of communities served.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to complete necessary background screenings and clearances.
