About the Role
Paystack is a technology company dedicated to resolving payment processing challenges for ambitious businesses throughout Africa. The company supports thousands of merchants, including well-known names like MTN, Domino’s Pizza, Taxify, and AXA Mansard, by providing a modern financial infrastructure that enables global payment acceptance.
Within this context, the HR, Strategy & Operations Personnel reports to the Head of People and is responsible for designing and implementing scalable human capital programs aimed at attracting, developing, rewarding, and retaining high-performing talent. This role emphasizes establishing and maintaining job frameworks, managing compensation reviews, guiding equity and salary benchmarking, and enhancing HR technology systems to support rapid organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the annual performance evaluation, promotion, and calibration cycles while maintaining structured job architecture and career progression paths.
- Develop and implement compensation and benefits strategies in partnership with senior leadership, including managing salary and equity benchmarks across multiple countries.
- Provide advice on salary leveling and reward frameworks and develop custom equity models suited to different operating regions.
- Design and maintain systems for equity, compensation, and performance management workflows; continuously assess HR program success and monitor employee sentiment to optimize operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience handling HR and people operations in rapidly growing technology startups or scale-ups.
- Deep knowledge of job evaluation techniques, benchmarking practices, equity management in various countries, and use of compensation survey platforms.
- Strong project management skills, advanced quantitative and Excel capabilities, and proficiency with modern HR technologies.
