Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to join our Nerang, Gold Coast office on a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract. This role involves delivering quality tenancy and property management services to ensure sustainable tenancies and fair property allocation while adhering to laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage rental income collection and handle arrears recovery promptly and efficiently.
- Execute tenancy procedures including sign-ups, lease and rent reviews, condition reports, and exit inspections.
- Coordinate with asset teams to address maintenance needs for occupied and vacant properties.
- Ensure compliance through accurate reporting, handling complaints, and maintaining accountability to CHL standards.
- Maintain up-to-date tenancy and property records in relevant systems.
- Represent CHL at Tribunal or Court proceedings when necessary.
- Provide tenants with information and advice aimed at supporting sustainable living arrangements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of two years' experience in housing, tenancy, or property management roles.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Proven ability to manage tenancy operations including rent collection, arrears, compliance, and customer service.
- Empathy and sensitivity to individuals experiencing housing crises or with complex support requirements.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, including collaboration with support organizations and government entities.
- Commitment to ensuring access to quality housing for all individuals.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s Licence.
Additional Information
Appointment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks such as Police, Working with Children, and NDIS clearances where relevant. These checks will be coordinated during the onboarding process.
