Hospitality Worker at AgeCare Monashee Mews

The Hospitality Worker position is essential in ensuring cleanliness and a safe environment in our care community.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting areas including resident suites, restrooms, showers, nursing stations, lounges, and offices following established schedules and procedures.
• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, cabinets, lamps, wall vents, handrails, baseboards, and blinds in assigned areas.
• Wash windows and spot clean walls regularly as per routine checklists.
• Dispose of trash from various locations while adhering to company waste disposal protocols.
• Shampoo carpeted floors upon request and launder resident bathmats as needed.
• Clean and polish fireplace glass, maintain washers and dryers including emptying lint traps daily.
• Utilize housekeeping equipment effectively and complete duty checklists to be reviewed by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Preferred possession of a high school diploma.
• WHMIS training considered a plus.
• Proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Experience in healthcare or retirement home environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, and floor polishers is preferred.

Additional Information

• Work location: AgeCare, Monashee Mews, 2165 Norris Avenue, Lumby, BC V0E 2G0.
• Full-time employment with a fixed schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, working 5 days on, 2 days off.
• Union membership is required as a condition of employment.
