About the Role
A rapidly expanding international tech company based in Watford is seeking an accomplished Group Financial Controller to lead and professionalize their global accounting operations. With offices offering hybrid work flexibility—three days onsite and two remote—this role reports directly to the CFO and plays a pivotal part in a significant transformation and modernization agenda following recent investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of a group-wide consolidation system that replaces manual accounting processes with automated, scalable solutions.
- Design and enforce robust internal financial controls across the global organization to ensure business reliability and readiness for exit opportunities.
- Manage and advance a skilled multi-currency consolidation team, fostering a culture of continuous performance improvement.
- Provide expert oversight on complex accounting issues involving international jurisdictions, including revenue recognition, purchase price accounting for acquisitions, and asset valuation.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A and commercial finance teams to convert complex compliance requirements into clear, actionable financial insights for senior leadership and private equity investors.
Candidate Profile
- Professional qualifications such as ACA or CA from a top-tier audit firm with comprehensive post-qualification experience in international corporate finance; strong CIMA candidates will also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, preferably in private equity or leveraged financial structures, with an understanding of data-driven investor demands.
- Experience in industries like Media, Technology, Digital, or Telecommunications, with solid knowledge of recurring revenue models and subscription accounting principles.
- Proven track record of successfully leading financial transformations such as ERP or consolidation system rollouts, automation of manual workflows, or team restructures.
Opportunity and Benefits
This position presents an exceptional chance to engage directly in a private equity value-creation cycle, revamping legacy financial procedures and establishing a world-class finance function. Working alongside a mentor-ready CFO, the role offers strong potential for career advancement to broader leadership responsibilities.
