Role Overview

The Grants Proposal Writer, working remotely from Nairobi, is tasked with securing financial resources that support Bright Path Vision's youth-centered programs addressing SRHR, climate action, and social change. Responsibilities include identifying potential grant opportunities, understanding funders' priorities, and overseeing the complete proposal development cycle—covering scheduling, compliance, and submissions. This involves data research and synthesis, producing coherent and persuasive concept notes, proposals, budgets, and reports, all tailored to various donors such as foundations, institutions, and international collaborators. Daily activities include liaising with program and finance teams for accurate information, ensuring adherence to grant and RFP requirements, maintaining a robust proposal pipeline and documentation system, and monitoring deadlines and results. Additionally, the role involves building relationships with potential funders, aiding donor communications, and contributing to strategic fundraising initiatives aligned with the organization's mission.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in developing well-structured, clear, and compelling grant proposals and technical documents.
• Experienced in proposal management including handling timelines, ensuring compliance, and managing full proposal lifecycles.
• Effective communicator with ability to collaborate across teams and clearly present complex ideas to varied stakeholders.
• Preferably has background in grant writing or fundraising within nonprofit, development, or youth-focused sectors.
• Strong research, analytical skills, and meticulous organization with capacity to handle multiple deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, International Development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related disciplines preferred.
• Knowledge or experience in SRHR, climate action, youth empowerment, and social justice, especially within East African or similar contexts, is advantageous.
• Capability to use standard office software and collaboration tools; committed to inclusive, ethical, and gender-sensitive principles.
