Job description

Role Overview

The Government Relations – UAEN position entails overseeing and nurturing productive interactions with governmental and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations. This role supports various organizational activities including licensing, visa processing, labor and immigration matters, ensuring prompt and effective service.

Core Duties

  • Serve as the main liaison between the organization and government entities.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with UAE government departments and authorities.
  • Represent the company at government agencies as necessary.
  • Keep updated on changes to government regulations, labor laws, and compliance mandates.

Visa, Immigration & Labor Coordination

  • Handle and coordinate employee-related government transactions including employment visas, residency permits, Emirates ID issuance and renewals, medical fitness tests, entry permits, and visa cancellations.
  • Collaborate with government officials to ensure timely application and approval processing.
  • Monitor visa and permit expiration dates to guarantee prompt renewals.

Licensing and Regulatory Adherence

  • Oversee the renewal and amendments of company trade licenses.
  • Coordinate with authorities regarding permits, approvals, registrations, and certifications.
  • Ensure alignment with federal and local government laws and regulations.
  • Maintain precise records of licenses, registrations, and official documents.

Administrative and Documentation Duties

  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation to government agencies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Organize and maintain databases related to government transactions.
  • Track the status of pending requests to proactively manage government dealings.

Employee Assistance

  • Provide support and guidance to employees on government-related inquiries, including immigration, visa, labor, and residency procedures.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from the government relations perspective.

Reporting and Process Enhancements

  • Compile periodic reports on government transactions, visa statuses, and compliance activities.
  • Monitor service delivery timelines to ensure efficient request processing.
  • Identify and implement improvements in government relations workflows and document management.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of company and employee information.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be a UAE National (Emirati) possessing a Family Book.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Law, or relevant fields.
  • Experience of 2-5 years in Government Relations, Public Relations Officer roles, Administration, Human Resources, or related positions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UAE Labor Law, immigration processes, MOHRE guidelines, Emirates ID protocols, and company licensing requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Extensive familiarity with UAE government systems and procedures.
  • Organizational excellence and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when handling sensitive data.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various government electronic portals.
  • Effective multitasking and deadline management skills.
