Role overview

This position is for a GCP Data Engineer who can build, optimize, and support cloud data platforms on Google Cloud. The role calls for strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, ETL pipelines, infrastructure as code, data modeling, and cost-conscious cloud operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and fine-tune BigQuery-based data warehouses and data marts.
• Work with BigQuery architecture features such as partitioning, clustering, and performance tuning to improve efficiency.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Cloud Build and other relevant GCP services for extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Write and optimize SQL queries with a strong focus on performance inside BigQuery.
• Manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform, especially for BigQuery-related resources.
• Use Git effectively and follow solid version control practices.
• Create dimensional data models and star schemas that convert business needs into practical data structures.
• Estimate, monitor, and reduce GCP spend across data processing and storage workloads.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and communicate effectively across teams.

Preferred background

• Experience designing and owning end-to-end AI product architecture on GCP with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Ability to work with data science and MLOps teams to build production-ready ML code structures and pipelines.
• Comfort partnering with data engineers in an architect-style capacity to improve models, pipelines, and storage systems for AI use cases.
• Capability to support full-stack developers with infrastructure planning, microservice architecture, and GCP implementation guidance.
