Fleet Controller

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and organized Fleet Controller responsible for managing and implementing fleet management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the availability of reliable, roadworthy vehicles at the Service Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting briefings with drivers following company standards
• Performing debriefings with drivers as per company protocol
• Tracking vehicle maintenance costs and monitoring driver performance
• Demonstrating effective personal management and collaborating well within a team
• Flexibly acquiring skills and performing multiple functions as needed

Required Competencies and Knowledge

• Understanding of relevant legislation such as the National Road Traffic Act
• Familiarity with vehicle licensing procedures
• Experience with fleet management software like Fleet Vision or ABSA systems
• General awareness of vehicle servicing and maintenance principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage supplier relationships effectively
• Customer service knowledge and principles
• Awareness of fleet-associated costs and budgeting
• Numeracy and literacy proficiency
• Skills in maintaining accurate records
