Role Overview
The Financial Analyst for Client Finance will oversee the financial management and operational effectiveness of specific client accounts. Collaborating closely with Project Management, Account teams, and Finance leadership, the role emphasizes monitoring project financials, maintaining forecasts, ensuring timely billing, and producing precise financial reports related to projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Track budgets, actual expenditures, and remaining funds for assigned projects.
- Ensure accurate financial data is maintained within the agency's financial systems.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to align financial data with project scope, staffing, and progress.
- Identify financial risks or variances and track overall project financial performance.
- Develop and manage revenue and staffing forecasts for projects.
- Analyze deviations between forecasted and actual performance and report significant variances.
- Prepare detailed financial analyses and reports to inform Finance and account leadership on project status.
- Create client invoices adhering to contractual billing terms and agency policies.
- Gather and organize supporting documents necessary for invoicing.
- Monitor billing timelines to ensure prompt invoicing and revenue capture.
- Assist in monthly revenue reviews by preparing project-level financial analyses.
- Detect discrepancies among project budgets, billings, and revenue calculations, escalating issues when necessary.
- Support Project Managers in providing project status updates for revenue reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for financial performance and revenue recognition processes.
- Assist Finance teams with documentation requests for audits and financial reviews.
Qualifications
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or project finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in Excel and financial data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience in professional services, consulting, or advertising agency settings.
- Familiarity with project financial management or ERP systems supporting budgeting, forecasting, and billing is advantageous.
Salary
The anticipated salary range for this role is between 80,000 and 90,000 Canadian dollars. Actual compensation will depend on various factors including experience, education, training, and overall fit within the organization. Salary is part of the comprehensive rewards package offered by BGB Group.
