Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate filmmaker who enjoys working behind the camera and wishes to break away from conventional corporate video projects. If you thrive on interacting with people and are interested in managing production processes from start to finish, this position could be a great fit.

Company Overview

The Filmevent uniquely blends film production with teambuilding events. Our clients become actors themselves, collaborating with professional filmmakers to create their own short films. Our events vary from small teams to large corporate gatherings involving hundreds of participants across diverse locations in Germany and Europe. We also operate a film studio in Frankfurt, developing and producing innovative film and entertainment formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate cameras during film events and productions
  • Conduct editing and post-production tasks
  • Manage lighting and sound setups
  • Produce reels, social media content, and behind-the-scenes footage
  • Prepare and organize shooting schedules
  • Maintain film and production equipment
  • Support clients throughout pre-production and during events
  • Coordinate creative and logistical details with clients
  • Plan and organize productions involving locations, crew, and other stakeholders
  • Act as the client liaison on production days
  • Ensure a professional yet relaxed experience for clients
  • Execute studio productions in Frankfurt
  • Participate in photoshoots and smaller content projects
  • Contribute to the development and testing of new film and entertainment formats
  • Help continuously improve existing experiences

Qualifications

We value enthusiasm and a genuine love for filmmaking over extensive professional experience. Ideal candidates will:

  • Have confident camera operation skills
  • Be experienced in video editing
  • Demonstrate a strong sense for imagery, lighting, and storytelling
  • Be approachable and personable with clients
  • Work independently and reliably
  • Show strong organizational abilities
  • Maintain composure in a dynamic event environment
  • Take ownership and responsibility seriously
  • Be willing to travel frequently and enjoy driving

A formal education or degree in film, media, or video production is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates who are self-taught and have a strong portfolio are equally encouraged to apply.

Benefits

At The Filmevent, you're more than just a camera operator. You will have the chance to quickly assume responsibility for entire productions, working on diverse projects such as corporate films in Berlin one day, studio shoots in Frankfurt the next, and editing content or developing new formats thereafter. This role offers valuable experience in film production, event management, client relations, and project leadership. As a small team, we offer a flat hierarchy where your ideas can be realized and you can actively shape our work.

Application Instructions

Please do not send lengthy applications. We want to see your work and get to know you. Submit your resume along with samples of your work, such as showreels or links to Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, or 2–3 productions you are proud of. Also, briefly explain why you love filmmaking and are eager to work with clients while taking production responsibility. We look forward to meeting you.
