About CHAOS Industries
CHAOS Industries is revolutionizing modern defense through a diverse product lineup that delivers unparalleled domain superiority. Powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN™), their solutions empower military personnel, commercial aviation operators, and border security teams to respond rapidly, adjust swiftly, and maintain an edge against dynamic threats.
Founded in 2022, CHAOS Industries has secured $1 billion in funding from top investors such as 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the company also maintains offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and London.
Role Overview
The Field Operations Specialist position for UAE and the Middle East is pivotal to expanding CHAOS Industries' footprint throughout the Gulf and surrounding regions. Reporting to a senior on-the-ground representative, this role acts as the operational cornerstone ensuring system functionality, customer assurance, and seamless deployment execution.
This is an active field role involving hands-on hardware engagement. You'll be embedded with military and government clients and must confidently manage tasks independently when the senior lead is engaged elsewhere. The position requires technical savvy to diagnose system integration challenges, logistical acumen to oversee deployments across multiple sites, and cultural sensitivity to foster trusted regional partnerships.
Key Duties
- Plan, organize, and carry out CHAOS technical system installations and deployments in the UAE and broader Middle East, from readiness preparations to final customer transfer.
- Lead deployments autonomously in the absence of senior representatives, ensuring all resources are appropriately placed and operational on schedule.
- Gain in-depth familiarity with CHAOS hardware and software to install, configure, and troubleshoot initial issues on-site, requiring proficiency in Linux command line interfaces, networking basics, and complex hardware management.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison with military and governmental clients, establishing dependable communications and relaying client feedback to internal product and engineering teams.
- Assist with demonstrations, support logistical coordination for visiting CHAOS personnel, remain cognizant of regional operating dynamics, and manage administrative and regulatory compliance to maintain smooth company presence in the Gulf.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in field operations, technical support, or systems operations roles, preferably within defense, government tech, or other critical mission sectors.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and make effective decisions amid uncertain and rapidly changing environments.
- Technical proficiency for setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting intricate hardware and software platforms, with comfortable use of Linux systems and basic networking principles.
- Proven experience managing logistical planning for international deployments, including risk mitigation for people and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build authentic trust with military and government stakeholders and to convey information effectively to leadership.
- Preparedness to travel extensively (up to 50%) across the Middle East, occasionally on short notice and to remote sites.
- Cultural adaptability and professional demeanor suitable for Gulf operational settings.
- Eligible to secure required security clearances.
Preferred Characteristics
- Military background, ideally with operational experience within the Middle East or Gulf.
- Previous roles such as Field Service Representative (FSR), Field Application Engineer (FAE), or related operations supporting hardware-intensive defense or sensor systems.
- Knowledge of radar, radio frequency (RF), unmanned aerial systems (UAS), command and control (C2) systems, or AI-based sensing technologies.
- Arabic language skills or substantial experience liaising with Gulf defense organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Military Science, Computer Science, or related fields, though equivalent operational experience is equally appreciated.
- Experience collaborating with entities such as EDGE Group, UAE Armed Forces, or comparable regional bodies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Comprehensive health coverage including private medical, dental, and vision insurance fully funded for employees and their dependents.
- 5% company pension contribution matching employee participation.
- Competitive base salary ranging between 60,000 and 80,000 GBP, along with attractive pre-IPO stock option packages, relocation support, and forthcoming annual bonuses.
- A rapidly expanding workforce exceeding 350 employees globally across five offices.
