Overview
This is a permanent, full-time position working 36 hours per week. An annual tax-free allowance of £312 is provided for working from home. The position is based in Belfast, Cardiff, or Edinburgh, requiring regular travel between these devolved offices to ensure consistency in services.
The Electoral Commission is the independent regulator overseeing elections and political finance in the UK, aiming to uphold trust, participation, and integrity in democracy. As part of a transformative five-year Corporate Plan, the organization is expanding its workforce and improving service delivery, with this role being integral to that effort.
Role Responsibilities
The Facilities Officer is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and appropriate office environments across multiple locations. Duties include ensuring health and safety compliance, managing contractors related to facilities, and contributing to business continuity planning. The role involves acting as the key liaison for facility-related issues between colleagues, suppliers, and landlords across Belfast, Cardiff, and Edinburgh offices as well as supporting remote employees. Travel between offices is expected to provide seamless, high-quality facilities support.
Team and Collaboration
The officer will work closely with the Facilities & Accommodation Manager and cross-functional teams including Digital Information, Technology, and Facilities. The team values collaboration and is focused on delivering excellent service while participating in organizational transformation efforts.
