Executive Director of Technology Operations

About the Role

The Executive Director of Technology Operations leads the operational management and governance of the company’s entire technology organization. This position ensures alignment between technology resources, systems, infrastructure, development workflows, and operational activities with the broader business goals. The role focuses on delivering technology initiatives efficiently, securely, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute technology operations strategies that support company and technology objectives.
• Convert strategic technology roadmaps into actionable operational plans with clear metrics.
• Drive excellence in software development, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, cloud operations, and IT service delivery.
• Establish governance structures to oversee smooth technology initiative delivery.
• Manage planning, delivery, and oversight of enterprise-wide technology projects and programs.
• Optimize technology portfolios, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure maximum business impact.
• Track project progress to meet deadlines, scope requirements, and budget constraints.
• Create executive-level dashboards and reports for technology performance transparency.
• Standardize and enforce operational processes, policies, and best practices for SDLC, DevOps, ITSM, Agile, and project management.
• Implement process automation and workflow improvements to elevate operational effectiveness.
• Guarantee compliance with internal controls, governance standards, and external regulations.
• Supervise the company’s IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, network systems, and support operations, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Lead service delivery excellence through monitoring, incident handling, and problem resolution.
• Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience planning.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to safeguard systems, applications, and data.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to technology operations, maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Implement risk management and escalation protocols across critical technology functions.
• Define, monitor, and report on KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics using data analytics to inform decisions.
• Promote ongoing improvements based on data-driven insights and evolving business needs.
• Coordinate with product management, engineering, IT, finance, HR, and business units to ensure operational alignment with corporate objectives.
• Support digital transformation and growth initiatives by fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Build and mentor high-performing technology operations teams, focusing on leadership development and succession planning.
• Instill a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous operational enhancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Over 18 years of experience in technology operations or related areas, including at least 8 years in senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success managing large-scale technology organizations and digital transformation projects.
• Expertise in software development operations, cloud infrastructure management, cybersecurity practices, and technology governance.
• Experience within multinational firms or rapidly growing tech organizations is advantageous.
