Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for overseeing all site-level Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations ensuring strict compliance with Factory Act rules and recent amendments.
• Carry out frequent site inspections to detect unsafe conditions or behaviors, documenting corrective actions using the Gensuite system.
• Guide and train EHS personnel and site teams on effective safety protocols, IMS documentation, and Gensuite application usage.
• Perform additional roles including those of EHS Executive, male nurse, and ambulance driver as necessary.
• Lead daily safety meetings to instill a culture prioritizing safety.
• Ensure regulatory adherence and consistent implementation of EHS standards aligned with SPCB, CPCB, IS, ISO, and corporate policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety performance and fulfill shared safety goals.
• Manage Permit to Work and Lock Out Tag Out systems for all non-routine activities effectively.
• Perform internal audits periodically, follow up on corrective actions, and coordinate third-party audits (e.g., IS-14489) ensuring compliance.
• Maintain operational readiness and upkeep of all Fire and Health Safety infrastructure onsite.
• Prepare legal compliance dashboards and consolidate legal activities as stipulated by the Factory Act.
• Develop and submit monthly safety performance statistics to corporate teams reliably by the third day of each month.
• Ensure timely compliance actions and review photo-based reports from corporate safety monitoring systems.
• Regularly organize and document safety committee meetings and safety circle rounds at scheduled intervals.
• Review and communicate daily EHS reports and incident investigations with headquarters promptly.
• Plan and run various safety awareness campaigns and community engagement programs, emphasizing local community welfare through safety initiatives.
• Manage Occupational Health Center operations, ambulance services, and safety briefing facilities onsite.
• Issue safety action notices for any non-compliance observed.
• Oversee implementation and conformity of Integrated Management System (IMS) including timely updates on departmental objectives, Management of Change processes, audits, and documentation.
• Coordinate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and data collection across departments, ensuring high-quality photographic documentation of activities.
• Ensure environmental compliance with CPCB/SPCB norms, maintain effluent treatment plant logs, manage air pollution control equipment operations, and conduct environmental audits.
• Conduct risk analyses such as HAZOP, PHA, HIRA, and JSA; implement management strategies including MOC and PSSR aligned with safety management systems.
• Develop and maintain EHS policies, manuals, SOPs, checklists, signage, and standard documentation ensuring legal and corporate standards adherence.
• Maintain and update Emergency Response Plans, conduct drills, and lead root cause analyses post incidents using the Why-Why methodology.
• Handle crisis management and communicate with relevant leadership and corporate teams during emergencies.
• Prepare and monitor the EHS budget and supervise the procurement process to ensure purchase of IS-standard safety equipment.

Eligibility

Candidates should hold a degree such as B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or B.Sc in Chemistry.
