About the Role

The Employment Support Specialist position at Achev is a pivotal role dedicated to assisting individuals, including newcomers and diverse Canadian populations, in achieving sustainable employment. Key Responsibilities

  • Guide individuals through well-structured and tailored job search processes in both group and one-on-one settings.

  • Knowledge of ministry programs such as Better Jobs Ontario and their regulatory guidelines.
  • Two or more years’ experience in job search, placement, incentives, job retention, coaching, or mentoring.
  • Experience conducting job search sessions in group settings for adult learners utilizing current techniques and assessment tools.
  • Ability to quickly adopt new technological tools, including Achev’s CETRA data management system.
  • In-depth understanding of labour market information, job search strategies, recruitment, and community resources.
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations including adults, youth, and newcomers with varied needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with organizational flexibility.
  • Superior time management and advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite and online employment resources.
  • Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • Certification or ability to administer and interpret psychological and personality assessments (e.g., Level B tests, Personality Dimensions, MBTI) is considered a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends, or split shifts as necessary.
