Job Overview
We are in search of passionate and proactive Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) professionals who excel in delivering outstanding customer service and leading teams in strict compliance with corporate and local food safety, environmental, health, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and annually review Environmental Health and Safety as well as food safety manuals, updating more frequently if necessary.
- Lead or actively participate in audits covering EHS, HACCP, ISO, Sustainability, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), offering guidance on compliance and corrective measures.
- Define audit criteria to ensure adherence to food safety, occupational safety, and environmental regulations; oversee audit outcomes, analyze trends, communicate findings, and develop action plans for maintaining compliance.
- Engage in incident investigations, determine root causes, communicate findings, and establish preventive corrective actions.
- Identify employee training requirements, create educational content, and conduct training sessions accordingly.
- Ensure suppliers and contractors comply with EHS and food safety standards through audits and communication.
- Track and incorporate changes in local sustainability, health and safety, and food safety regulations into internal procedures, policies, and documentation.
- Perform regular EHS and food safety workplace inspections and apply necessary corrective actions.
- Manage all documentation related to EHSMS and food safety, including manuals, policies, procedures, and reports.
- Collaborate with different departments to execute corporate social responsibility initiatives that positively impact the community and environment.
- Monitor and oversee the hotel’s participation in Rotana Earth environmental programs.
- Operate safely and environmentally responsibly to protect the health and safety of guests and staff while conserving the environment.
- Adhere to the hotel’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
Occupational Health and Safety Specific Duties
- Develop, periodically review, and update OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Lead the implementation of OHS systems, monitoring progress through inspections and meetings with department heads and operational teams.
- Participate actively in periodic reviews and contribute to setting EHS objectives and targets.
- Ensure all new personnel receive necessary OHS trainings specifically related to their roles; report performance metrics to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Keep legal requirements updated, communicated, and enforced throughout the property.
- Plan and execute audits and inspections to assure compliance with OHS regulations; communicate results and enforce corrective plans.
- Coordinate regular risk assessments across hotel areas with relevant departments and introduce targeted control measures.
Qualifications and Experience
- University or college degree in Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or allied disciplines.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in EHS, Food Safety, or Sustainability roles within the hospitality sector or similarly high-risk operational environments.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, HACCP, or Lead Auditor credentials are advantageous.
- Proficiency with computers and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
