Position Summary
We are seeking experienced EHS Lead professionals for projects based in Leinster. This role centers on establishing a robust health and safety culture throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to local and national legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain a proactive health and safety culture tailored to the project.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety laws during the construction process.
- Collaborate with Group Construction Health and Safety teams to develop customized health and safety plans and strategies for each project.
- Execute the Group’s behavioural safety initiatives across the project site.
- Manage all elements related to construction site health and safety including access control, security measures, inductions, first aid, welfare, and emergency plans.
- Lead and coordinate on-site health and safety personnel and resources.
- Promote the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety through effective communication and coordination.
- Implement active health and safety monitoring through regular site audits and inspections of contractor activities.
- Track and report health and safety outcomes using established performance indicators.
- Drive continuous improvement by managing health and safety programmes and initiatives.
- Support Construction Managers in fulfilling statutory health and safety obligations.
- Oversee incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analyses and implementation of corrective measures.
- Influence workforce safety behaviors via coaching, relationship building, and open dialogue.
- Organize and deliver safety training, workshops, and awareness sessions in partnership with site management.
- Maintain compliance with the company’s OHSAS18001 accredited safety management system.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field, coupled with a recognized Occupational Health and Safety Diploma.
- At least 8 years of experience in occupational safety with a strong focus on construction health and safety practices.
- Proven expertise in establishing and executing world-class health and safety management systems within construction project environments.
- Demonstrated experience with behavioural safety programme development and implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong abilities in influencing and negotiation at multiple organizational levels.
- Competency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
