Job description
Position Overview
As a Duty Manager at Courtyard by Marriott in Singapore, you will oversee guest service operations by managing check-ins, verifying guest details, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys. You will ensure accurate account setup per guest requests and handle entering loyalty program data. Maintaining proper rate coding and securing payments before room key issuance are key responsibilities, along with billing verification and handling various payment types.
Key Duties
- Manage guest check-in processes including identity verification, payment authorization, room allocation, and key issuance.
- Set up guest accounts accurately according to individual needs and enter Marriott Rewards information.
- Ensure correct application of rates and market codes, recording exceptions appropriately.
- Secure payments before room key issuance and reconcile billing accordingly.
- Prepare and review daily operational reports including logs, contingency lists, cashier and closing reports.
- Provide guests with directions and property details, and coordinate with staff to fulfill guest requests, following up to confirm satisfaction.
- Manage all transactions including payments, vouchers, paid-outs, and additional charges while maintaining receipt balances and securing cash banks.
- Follow all accounting and authorization procedures, notifying security team of any theft or concerns raised by guests.
- Assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching team members; act as a first contact point for fair treatment and open door policy processes.
- Promote positive employee relations, support teamwork to meet organizational goals, and address employee concerns appropriately.
- Adhere to company policies, maintain safety by reporting incidents and unsafe conditions, complete required safety training, and ensure professional appearance and confidentiality.
- Deliver exceptional guest service by anticipating needs, assisting disabled guests, and engaging warmly with guests throughout their stay.
- Maintain clear and professional communication, both verbal and written, and utilize computer and POS systems effectively.
- Perform physical tasks as needed, including standing or walking extended periods and handling objects up to 10 pounds.
- Complete additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
